Car Insurance Rates Increase in Louisiana

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Drivers in Louisiana can expect to pay at least $71 a year more in car insurance starting January 1, according to KTBS News’ article “Car insurance bills to rise for Louisiana drivers.”  This new law that increases the required minimum liability coverage will effect over one million people in Louisiana.  Unfortunately for the drivers, many are not even aware that this new law has passed.  Insurance companies did not have to notify their policyholders in advance of this required increase in their coverage.

The current law in Louisiana requires what is known as “10-20-10″ liability coverage for cars and trucks.  That means $10,000 of coverage for the injury or death of one person from a car accident, $20,000 of coverage for more than one person, and $10,000 of damaged property coverage.  This new law ups the coverage to $15,000, $30,000, and $25,000 respectively.  A State Farm Insurance quote will now work those new figures into your policy.  Even those who carry minimum insurance will see a significant increase in their policy amounts.

Infinity Auto Insurance Gets an “A”

Friday, December 25th, 2009

A.M. Best Company is one of a few independent agencies that rates the financial strength of insurance companies.  They consistently rate Infinity auto insurance with their excellent rating of “A”.  While many factors are used to determine the ratings, financial strength is one of the most important.  A.M. Best looks to see how companies stand on meeting the financial obligations they have to their policyholders.

Infinity auto insurance is part of Infinity Insurance Group along with Infinity Select Insurance and Infinity National Insurance Companies.  Their goal is providing consistent insurance products through excellent customer service and programs meant for customer satisfaction.  An A.M. Best rating of “A”, or excellent, shows that Infinity auto insurance is doing just as they set out to do.  Compare car insurance from other companies and you’ll surely find that Infinity is one of the best.

Dairyland Auto Insurance Says No Texting While Driving

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

From press release “Federal and Local Government Cracking Down on Texting While Driving,” drivers should leave their phones alone while on the road.  Car insurance companies have always urged drivers to be more careful on the roads by avoiding eating, changing the radio station, interacting with passengers, or talking on the phone.  More recently, texting while driving has become just as dangerous as those other distractions.

An Executive Order this year has banned all government employees from texting while driving in government vehicles that are owned, rented or leased.  They also cannot text in their own vehicles if they are on company business or using company cell phones.  Penalties will be enforced by those breaking the law by the end of this year.

By the start of 2010, at least twenty-one states will have laws that ban texting while driving.  That is good news for Dairyland Auto Insurance Company and other car insurance companies.  The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles reported almost 30,000 car crashes due to distracted drivers.  Over 100 people were killed in these crashes and close to 15,000 were injured.  Drivers are encouraged to leave the cell phones off and concentrate on the road to avoid car crashes and higher insurance rates.

Get an Estrella Insurance Quote as Rates Drop Across the Board

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

From Yahoo Finance, Insurance.com’s press release “Insurance.com RateWatch: Car Insurance Rates Dropped Significantly in 2009,” they believe that “lower rates look to provide relief to drivers in 2010.”  Car insurance rates had a steep increase of 8% in 2008 but dropped by 3.5% in 2009.  The average consumer in the United States pays $1,803 per year as of this November.  Cheap car insurance can be found by shopping around for companies that have followed the trend of decreasing rates.  Smart shoppers took advantage of the lower rates by purchasing new policies this year.

An Estrella Insurance quote could help you get significant savings on your auto policy.  Estrella insurance has over 40 agencies throughout Florida and prides themselves on excellent customer service.  You can obtain a quote through their website for any kind of automobile coverage that you need.  These rate decreases came at just the right time for consumers, many of whom are trying to cut back during difficult economic times.  While the largest rate declines occurred in Washington D.C., Nebraska, Vermont, Idaho, and West Virginia, most states did see a decline.  Since the car insurance industry expects to see the rates remain steady or decline into 2010, this is a great time to get an Estrella Insurance quote.

State Farm Car Insurance Could Protect Tiger Woods in Car Accident

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Does Tiger Woods have State Farm Car Insurance?  I assume he has some car insurance for the car he wrecked over Thanksgiving weekend.  According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer‘s article “Tiger Woods claims car accident his fault alone; again calls off talk with state troopers,” Woods has admitted the wreck was his fault.

The mystery surrounding this accident will most likely call for an investigation from whichever car insurance company that Woods uses.  If he does have State Farm Car Insurance, he is insured by the number one car insurer in the United States since 1942.  He could rest assured that whatever damage was caused and anything else that results from this accident would be fully covered.  Tiger Woods has been subject to an unfortunate amount of media speculation since his car accident, unfortunate for a sports hero who has had a very clean image up to this point.  Here’s to hoping that both his car insurance needs and his public image are taken care of in the coming weeks.
